Bacolod as a semi-laid back city does not suffer lack of cafes that will help you cure your “location fatigue” whenever you’re studying.

Here are notable cafes you may consider for studying.

• SM Parkinn attached to the North Wing of SM Bacolod is one of the top spots for studying.

• This is not so well known, but they have a counter where around 10-15 people could work with fast wifi and steady power socket. If that area is full, some of the tables have power sockets at the floor too.

• The aircon may sometimes be too cold, so bring a comfy jacket.

• They also serve food hotel-style. There is an area for hotel guests and it is crowded on or before 10AM because of the free breakfast.

• You may go through the special access to the mall.

• Parking was a challenge before but due to the new SM parking building, you can have a covered parking at a fee.

• Address: Antares Building, CL Montelibano

• Has fast wifi and affordable food; has charging ports in some areas

• There’s a pooch’s spa across, so you can have your fur baby groomed while you work or hang-out there

• Has an area where you sit in stair-like benches

• Somewhat near Gate 5 of La Salle, so it can be packed with students during break times or exam times. Bring ear plugs or aid pods if you want less noise.

• Parking is not always a challenge because of the space along CL Montelibano

• If you are from Manila or abroad, and want a place of familiarity, SB is the place to go.

• There are 4 branches as of March 2025: East/Circumferential (the newest one); Lacson St; Ayala Mall and SM Bacolod.

• SB East is the favorite spot of those who want to study until late at night. They are open until 12AM. The parking is not a problem.

• SB Lacson may have limited space during rush hours.

• Address: Avenue Suites Hotel, Lacson Street

• They have wifi if your order reaches a certain amount (I think P300)

• They have charging points in some areas

• Parking is limited in the area of Lacson

• Hilado St., Shopping District, Bacolod

• Very near St. John, so it can be crowded during lunch breaks

• Has 2 storeys; 2nd floor if you want less noise

• Wide range of food choices

• Lighting and interior design are relaxing

• Parking is sufficient, except during rush hours

• Bacolod Circumferential Road (Going to Silay Airport)

• It seems that the place is not really designed for study areas. It’s meant for main fast food hub, jogging stop over place, and group bonding activities. (Unlike UpperEast branch where there are high chairs and sockets)

• A bit secluded from the center (as of now) but everyone knows it is a strategic move to develop the area.

• No free WiFi

• Ideal for those who want to jog or run in that area

• Has high chairs and areas with sockets (at the McDo main)

• The cafe seems to have no or less sockets; no wifi too

• The tables at the side have electric sockets; those at the high chairs have USB sockets.

• Opens 24/7 as there is an upcoming call center (No. 1 and No. 5) near it; except on some seasons or occasions.

• Parking is not much of a problem especially at night time. More spaces at the back of the Upper East House/Sucre

• Is a cafe but also seems to be like a restaurant

• Not much sockets to charge from; free wifi not ascertained

• Pros would have been very spacious space, bright lightining, and lots of sockets, free WiFi

• Parking is also not a problem especially in night time. Parking along the ABS-CBN compound’s street is easy but dark.

• Pastries are a bit pricey but justifiable. Pretzels are recommended.

• So far lots of good feedback on the qualify of their coffee

• There has been good feedback on the coziness of the main branch in Alijis.
